nothing much to blog about leh.. started my clinical placements a week ago.. into my second week now.. i'm at Dandenong Hospital this semester.. can see the outline of the mountain from my hospital leh! hahaha! and on the bus ride..
the department is ok.. i liked it the first week.. but of course there'll be obstacles lah.. but i'm glad that i get to go to the wards/ICU/emergency department to observe some of the mobile x-rays.. i really can't wait to go theatre to see the sugeries!!! hee hee.. =D just hope i won't faint/feel nauseous at the sight/thought of blood. hahahah! if not it'll really really embarrassing. hee =D
and of course there are more interesting cases.. in the sense that we get inpatients and casulties.. so we do actually get to see fractures. hahaha! not good for the patients but interesting for me.. =D
and when i go the wards/ICU/ED.. i think about house and grey's anatomy.. but it's really so different.. when the doctors and nurses are crowded around the patient in his/her bed, the atmopshere is really so tense and so serious..
and of course infection control is more in practice in hospitals than in private clinics.. interesting.. =D
hmm.. not many pictures also leh.. only have one here from aiji's birthday dinner.. this was outside kimchi grandma.. =D
that's it.. i can't wait to go back to singapore you know.. =D shopping.. driving.. family.. friends.. =D =D

i finally watched phantom yesterday night!!!!! hee hee hee.. =D
met claire for dinner at the jap restaurant in the city that she recommended! the waitresses were all jap! so cool.. hahaha! ok, i'm easily amused. hahaha! or maybe 'cos the night before i was watching a nice jap drama, hotaru no hikari, (which is really very nice and funny!! =D)..
oh ya, so the food was pretty good!! =D i had the teriyaki chicken.. yummy yummy! =D so much chicken some more.. hahahaha!
and we shared teriyaki unagi+avacado+cucumber sushi! the plate sooooo long. hahahah! sorry for the blur pictures anyway.. =D
the musical was not bad!! =D of course the music was fantabulous.. hee.. =D and ahem ahem, i nearly fell asleep in the first half.. maybe 'cos the music was too soothing and i've watched the musical back in singapore when i was much younger.. so i was familiar with it.. hahaha! but i was awake the second half!! when all the action was. hahaah! phantom was so good! i really felt his pain and sadness.. =D and he was just so... manly. hahahahaha! but when the mask was off, he looked like an old, balding man. hahaha! from my view lah.. i was sitting in the dress circle.. the seat was not bad lah.. =D
oh but i felt that the transaction between the songs and dialogue and the emotions were abit too abrupt.. like suddenly they will break into song... as in, usually it's smoother lah.. =D maybe 'cos they have been acting like 2 shows a day, everyday.. hahaha! so it has become mechanically.. but the actors and actresses were really good! the voices ah.. aiyo. hahahha! you know what's one of the song that i enjoyed the most? i liked masquerade.. hee hee.. don't know why also, the tune probably.. and the lyrics? =D but the other classic songs were super good too. =D
it was held in the princess theatre.. i actually expected like a huge, grand theatre, but it was actually small! but cozy lah.. =D it's even smaller than the one in esplanade, (pahm, where we watched the ballet show.., and where i watched west side story..).. but the interior design was very nice and 'ancient'.. hahaha! too bad we didn't take pictures in the theatre.. except for this one after the show.. so paiseh 'cos there was high human traffic flow past this area.. hahaha! but we just thick skin and took picture.. hahaha! nice sofa! =D
this is the theatre from outside.. i realised that there are actually quite a few other theatres in the city! and remember last time i said that i didn't really like the city? maybe i do now.. hahaha! the night life is quite nice lah.. like pubbing and all.. then people will just stand outside the pub in groups to drink.. =D (actually they seem as though they are waiting for someone. hahaha!)
oh ya!!! and hahahahaha! you know during the musical there were like fire, and gun shots, and fake mannequins popping out of picture frames.. and my goodness, everytime there were these shocks, i will like JUMP in my seat lah. ultimate pai seh man.. hahahaah! then everyone else were sitting calmly in their seats. hahahaa! and plus claire and i weren't sitting together 'cos majority of the seats were already taken up by the time we bought our tickets.. so i was like sitting amongst strangers.. paisehhhh.. hahahaha! why is my heart is easily shocked? hahaha! the other time at home john was hiding behind the tv trying to scare me too, and i practically screamed lah.. hahahaha!
and thank You, Lord for protecting me on my way home after the show!! =D surprisingly there were quite a few people on the train and bus that i took.. =D i even prepared pamela to be on standby if i felt that someone was following me, so that i could call her.. hahaha!

claire and i.. taken by some aussie old man.. claire helped him and his friends to take a picture too.. and the both of us were like complaining 'cos she helped him to take a nice picture with like the whole picture of phantom inside.. but then ours was so bad. hahaha! and very funny, we asked another lady to take another picture for us, and it was super duper blur lah! hahaha! and she kept insisting that it was very nice.. then i was just like, "yes! it's beautiful!".. hahahahaha! we deleted it.. hahahaa!

the usher told me that no pictures were allowed after i took this. i thought i could sneak a picture but they are actually watching us very very closely.. hahaha! and then they will swoop down on you when they see that you are taking pictures.. hahaha!

mery!! i love michaelchu!! hahahha! i made the chocolate brownies today and they were yummy!! it's really crunchy outside and chewy inside!! shiok!! hahahah! =D but when it first came out of the oven laura and i tried it hot.. and it was SOOOO sweet.. but after it cooled down, then i tried it again.. waaaaa.. really very nice.. i love the chewyness.. =D YUM YUM!!!! =D =D
and you know i bought the ramekin for the souffle!! will try making it one day.. =D really chocolate overload man.. hahaha! =D

and we had hotpot for dinner! =D had one normal soup, and the ma2 la4 soup.. but only medium hot.. so it was still managable for me.. BUT THEN.... waa.. when we had the vegetables, 'cos my bowl was already filled with the ma-la soup, so the veggies soaked inside, and i choked on them!!!! ahhhh!! my poor throat.. tears just came naturally lah! and i finished one whole bottle of drink.. hahahaa!

had my last paper for year 1 on friday!! hee hee =D so happy.. =D and my good grades can only come from Jesus.. =D
after the paper jade, mandy, keer, jack and i went to boxhill (second time going there..) to have lunch at this hongkong cafe.. i ate e-fu mian!! YES! hahahahah! then after that.. oh, we went to doncaster!! first time going there.. then after that we went back to boxhill, and then to glen! ok, pictures.. hahaha! too lazy to type..

and we went all the way there just to take pictures lor. hahaha!
we all took turns squeezing into this kiddy ride.. hahaha! it was really tough getting in ok.. had to stick your butt in first then the rest of the body could go in. hahaha!

and my goodness, we saw a rainbow at boxhill!!! you know the colours at one end of the rainbow were seriously so vibrant!! i've never seen such a vibrantly coloured rainbow before. hahaha! rainbow = God's promise.. =D

and we went to glen to take neoprints! hahahah! oh man, it has been AGES since i last took it.. hahaha! and they had like hats and wigs and "props" for the pictures.. hahaha! look at my mickey mouse one!! i think it's really funny lah! hahahah! firstly, the ribbon is like at the back.. i anyhow put the ears on.. hahaha! and then, my hands!! hahahaha! i seriously cannot be a model man.. hahahah! i didn't know how to pose so i just anyhow put my hands up. hahahaha! mickeymousejia.

then on saturday i went to inspect an apartment.. but quite disappointed lah, the rooms are tiny!! =( then met jade and we went to visit angel at her icecream shop.. i ate icecream!! so shiok. hahaha! =D then we watched nanny diaries!! and i played aracade!! and i finally tried the spicy fish!! oh i LOVE the spicy fish. it's so fresh!! and spicy.. =D must go back there to eat more fish. hahaha! oh ya, we had dinner with angel's co-worker at the icecream place too! angela.. =D then we got bubble tea, played cards, rented hyun bin's A Millionaire's First Love (jie this was the one you wanted to watch right??), then angel drove us to angela's house to watch! and her house is nice!! 2-bedroom house. really nice and just the right size. i also want!!!! then angel drove jade and i home.. =D =D
oh! and the apple pie that we had at mocha jo's.. it was yummy!!!! =D =D how to make the crust??

mer! i bought the NORMAL bananas today and made the icecream again. oh man it tastes SO MUCH BETTER!! hahahah! and really nice and sweet!!!! =D very banana-ry.. hahahah! =D and the texture is so so so much better too! looks more like icecream. hahaha! =D yay! thanks mer! =D
and i tried michaelchu's roasted almond asparagus too! it was goooood!! the combination of almonds with asparagus is nice.. =D =D almonds are nice.. nuts are nice.. =D and i just fried normal pasta with chicken.. =)

mery!!!!! i tried the icecream!!!
did yours look like this??!! oh i used strawberries 'cos the mangoes they had at the hongkong grocery shop looked so green.. i think they were unripe. hahahaha! so i couldn't wait for them to become ripe.
the icecream tastes good!!! it's something different. a different way of eating fruits. hahaha! you know the bananas right, at first i chose the normal long ones.. then i saw "lady bananas - sugar bananas".. so i thought hey! that may be good! nice and sweet.. but in the end right, the texture is the those "powdery" kind? yeah.. next time i shall just get the normal bananas. hahaha!
oh no, i just took some more to eat.. it tastes terrible. hahaha! the bananas lah!!! 2 seconds after i put the icecream in my mouth, it becomes the yucky 'powdery', rough texture.. oh no! ok i don't care. i'm going to get some NORMAL bananas tomorrow and try again.. hee =D
and then! i tried 2 receipes from michaelchu! the roasted asparagus spears and the grilled salmon! ok, but i didn't grill the salmon i baked it.. it's strange 'cos the marinate is maple syrup plus soy sauce.. hahaha! but in the end it turned out nice!! but i put too much maple syrup i think.. i didn't follow his measurements 'cos i only had one slice of salmon.. it's nice!! you should try that receipe! =D
ok, this is half-eaten.. hahahaha!
the asparagus was good too!! i'm so happy 'cos i've always wanted to find a good way of cooking them.. and this way is so easy.. just olive oil and pepper and salt.. hee =D i wanna try his almond asparagus one next time.. =D
